Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, such as your login status or preferences.
We also use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and authentication tokens where appropriate. In this policy, we refer to these collectively as "cookies" unless otherwise noted.
MyListZone uses cookies to operate the Service, keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the platform is used, and support integrations with third-party providers.
The categories table below summarizes the main types of cookies we use. Specific names and durations may change as we update our infrastructure; this page will be updated when material changes occur.
Example names and typical durations. Exact values may vary as we update infrastructure.

| Essential / security cookies | Required for core site functionality, security, CSRF protection, and load balancing. | better-auth.session_token | Session / up to 7 days | Required |

Essential cookies are necessary for the Service to function. They enable core features such as page navigation, security, and access to authenticated areas.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they cannot be disabled through our cookie settings without affecting your ability to use MyListZone.
When you sign in, we use authentication cookies and session tokens managed through Better Auth to verify your identity and maintain your session securely. Sign-in methods may include Google Sign-In, Facebook Login, X (Twitter) Login, and email and password when available.
These cookies may persist across browser sessions so you remain signed in until you log out or the session expires. Signing out clears session cookies associated with your account.
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) analytics cookies to collect information about how users interact with MyListZone in aggregate form, such as pages visited, features used, and error rates.
We use this data to improve performance, fix bugs, and prioritize product improvements. Analytics cookies are optional and can be managed through cookie preferences.
Preference cookies and local storage remember choices you make, such as display theme, dismissed notices, or interface layout preferences. Theme preference is stored under the key mylistzone-theme.
These enhance your experience but are not required for basic functionality. You can disable them through cookie settings where applicable.
Some cookies are placed by third-party services we integrate with, such as authentication providers, Google Analytics 4, YouTube trailer embeds, or other embedded content. These providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies.
We do not control third-party cookies. For more information, review each provider's documentation: Google Analytics and Google privacy policies, Meta (Facebook) privacy policy, X privacy policy, YouTube / Google embedded player policies, and the terms of TMDB, IGDB, and Open Library for catalog data (those catalog APIs typically do not set cookies in your browser).
You can manage optional cookies through our Cookie Settings dialog or your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or alert you about cookies.
Blocking all cookies may prevent you from signing in or using certain features. Essential and authentication cookies are required for account access.
To delete existing cookies, use your browser's privacy or history settings. Instructions vary by browser and device.
Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before placing optional cookies such as analytics or preference cookies. You can accept all, reject optional cookies, or customize your choices.
Your consent preferences are stored locally in your browser under the key mlz_cookie_preferences_v1 and can be updated at any time through Cookie Settings. Essential cookies remain active regardless of your choices.
Manage Cookie Preferences
Control optional cookies. Essential cookies remain active to keep MyListZone working.
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide additional notice.
We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.

Social Login Cookies
When you sign in with Google, Facebook, or X, those providers may set cookies or similar tokens as part of the OAuth authentication flow. Better Auth coordinates the session on our side once authentication completes.
Social login cookies may be used to maintain your session with the provider, prevent fraud, and remember your authorization choices. We receive only the data needed to create or link your MyListZone account.
Google Sign-In
Google may set cookies during OAuth sign-in. Review Google's privacy and cookie policies for details on how they handle this data.
Facebook Login
Facebook Login may set cookies when you authenticate. These are governed by Meta's policies and your Facebook account settings.
X (Twitter) Login
X OAuth may involve short-lived state cookies during the authorization redirect flow.
Better Auth
After social login or other sign-in completes, Better Auth issues session cookies (such as better-auth.session_token) for MyListZone. These are essential for maintaining your authenticated session on our platform.
